About FCS Certification Resources
In addition to other resources, The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences has recommended the following eight e-books as possible resources to study for the family and consumer sciences certification exams.
The e-books were originally developed and written to be used as student reference books for high school students enrolled in family and consumer sciences courses.
The e-books contain reference material for the following standards tested on the family and consumer sciences certification exams.

These e-books do not represent the only resources to be used as study material. Use of these resources does not guarantee the successful completion of the test. The e-books listed above DO NOT cover Standard 4 – Nutrition, Wellness, and Food Science and Standard 6 – Consumer and Resource Management. You will need to locate other resource materials to study for these standards. A list of resources for each of the standards covered on the exams can be found in the Texas Candidate Information Bulletin and Study Guide from the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). It is suggested that you review multiple resources in areas which you may not consider yourself skilled or experienced.
Depending on your level of knowledge and expertise, you may read all of the e-books, or you may only need to skim the chapters or read the chapter summaries. If you have recently graduated or are still in school, review your course outlines, notes, and other materials that relate to the content of the examination.
